Highly skilled masons provide carving for individual
pieces, commissions and restoration projects.
Recent projects have included detailed sculptural work for finials
at Dundee City Churches and a feature tablet for the Queen Mother
Memorial Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh.
Recent commissions for Scottish sculptor, Gerald Laing include:-
The Fire Icon at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent (pictured right).
This was carved from approximately 43 tonnes of Portland limestone.
The finished sculpture weighs approximately 12 tonnes.
And the Millennium Sundial, the Wormsley estate Oxford.
The above sundial, for a private commission,
was carved from Portland limestone and tells the time at various
cricket grounds around the world.
This wall tablet, to the right, for a private hotel, shows the
name of the architect, David Percy, depicted in the intertwining
letters.
